Lane's Language

Delaney is a pretty funny little girl. She's got this quirky sense of humor that's hard to describe unless you're around her a bunch. She's also got her own language, as most almost 2 year old's do. Addy and I seem to understand it pretty well, I think Ryan still needs help trying to figure it out.
Some of my favorite "words" she uses and their meanings are;
Sicle-Day=Popsicle(really, I have NO idea where this came from, but it's my all time favorite one)

Gree-Gree=Hungry

Wadee=Water

Do-Dit=Yogurt

Binkeree=Binky(pacifier for those not aware;-)

Dooce=Juice

There are lots more, but these are the ones that make me laugh the most when she says them. You can thank me later for the translations, they'll help if you're ever around her and I'm not there to help you understand :)

Newest Member of the Lost Tooth Club

Addyson lost her first tooth yesterday, yay! She seemed kind of young to be loosing a tooth so a few weeks ago when I found that it was loose, I called her dentist to see if that was normal. I'm the paranoid parent for sure;-)

She woke us up early this morning to tell us what the tooth fairy left for her, a $5.00 bill and some Trident Gum, she was pleased!

An Amazing Trip!

Our little family got treated to the most wonderful trip to Alaska courtesy of Ryan's Mom and Dad. My father-in-law got a great job opportunity that brought them to Anchorage a few years ago, and we finally got up there to see it!

We left on 7/26(our 6th anniversary!) and got back 8/2. There were so many fun things we did; The Alaska Zoo, The 26 Glacier Cruise in Whittier(my absolute favorite part of the trip), did the tourist thing in downtown Anchorage, went to The Moose's Tooth for some great pizza and local flair, had a moose sighting, a hike, a cookout by the fire pit, I got to spend my birthday there and had the most amazing birthday cake(thanks Ryan and LeeAnn!), and we got in some really great family time. It was great for our girls to get to spend some one on one time with their "far away" grandparents, they loved it.

We appreciated Bud and LeeAnn's hospitality and for making our trip comfortable, fun, relaxing, you name it!

Thanks guys for an amazing trip!! Love and miss you already...

Private

Here in the next week I plan on making our little family blog "private". I really have been meaning to do this for a long time but haven't yet. By the end of this week it will be password protected and anyone that wants to read about the Johnson Family happenings will need a log on and password.

If you want an "invite" to read our blog, drop me an email or leave a comment here with your email address and I'll add you. Thanks!!

6 Years

At 10 am on Saturday, July 26, 2003 in The Houston Texas Temple, Ryan and I were sealed for time and all eternity. I can't imagine a better way to marry the love of my life, it was a sweet ceremony to say the least.
1 apartment, 2 houses, 6 cars, 3 animals, 2 precious daughters, and 6 years later here we are living the dream! Life with us can get pretty hectic, but at the end of the day when all is quiet and kiddos are asleep and it's just the two of us, life is really good.

I feel so incredibly blessed that Heavenly Father led Ryan and me(back!) to each other. He's my best friend, I trust him and he can make me laugh until I can't breathe, he is seriously funny! Really, I'm not sure what I'd do without him. Plus, he's a great cook and he's pretty cute, too ;-)

Love to my sweet Ryan, here's to spending a wonderful eternity together...
XOXO

Some Sweet Memories

Yesterday at my sister Brandy and her husband Bobby's birthday party, my Mom gave me some really great pictures she found. I love old pictures, and I especially love these! Tom and Patty have both passed away, and that's why these mean so much to me.

In the first picture my Dad is on the left, a 14 month old Heather is in the middle, and my Dad's brother Tom is on the right, circa September 1976. They're quite the lookers, wouldn't you say??
Second one is self explanatory. It's pretty obvious that the "resting in the pool about to fall asleep" gene did NOT get passed on to my girls! Glad that Dad was drinking a beer while watching me in the pool though ;-)

The last one is of Aunt Patty and me. I can't tell where we are, but by my short hair I know this one was taken in about 1996. Such a sweet lady.

Still miss them both a bunch...
