Pittsburgh

The week before thanksgiving we decided we wanted to take a fun weekend trip away and originally thought Columbus.  We then decided to head to Pittsburgh because we'd not been there. It's only about a two hour drive away, so that made it pretty do-able.  We stayed in a hotel right in downtown(with an indoor pool of course!), we saw some fun sites including the Duquesne Incline, a pretty neat candy store called Grandpa Joe's Candy Store, a yummy hole in the wall pizzeria and the Carnegie Science Center.  We managed to pack all of it in in about 24 hours.  Pittsburgh was a neat town and I'm glad we got to go!

A Happy, and Yummy Thanksgiving

It was such a fun, relaxed and delicious turkey day for our family.  I prepped most of the side dishes yesterday so it wouldn't be a stressful time crunch the day of.  Ryan fried the turkey as usual, and it didn't disappoint.  We had the missionaries from church join us, and our friends, the Kleins, who are transplants to Ohio, just like us.  We ate too much, like always, but it was worth it being uncomfortable, some great food and desserts, but even better company. I'm just sorry I didn't take more pictures!

Texans vs Browns

A few months ago we found out that the Texans were headed to Cleveland to play the Browns in November, so it was a no brainier that we'd be at that game!  Ryan searched for tickets, but his boss ended up getting a great pair of tickets for us.  We left the girls with their sitter and off to the Browns stadium we went.  Once we got there I was a bit nervous wearing my Texans gear among all of the Browns fans.  There were more Texans fans there than I thought there would be so that was fun.  We endured the cold with our many layers of clothes and did great.  We warmed up with cheese burgers, fries and hot chocolate.  So fun!  The Texans won the game 23-7 and I'm so glad we got to be part of it!  It was lots of fun having some Texas in Ohio for a few hours.

Shadow the cat

Just before Halloween this year we had a little furry friend show up at our house.  He's a solid black cat that the girls named Shadow.  I for one wasn't thrilled when Ryan told the girls they could feed him, obviously we're good in the pet department.  He's been pretty easy to have around so far, and he loves the kids.  He hangs out with them in the morning when they wait for the bus, and he's there when they get home.  It's starting to get pretty cold so at night we let him sleep in the garage.  I don't have a problem having him here if he takes care of mice and other critters for us.  So far so good with our newest family member!

Delaney is 7

What a birthday week for our youngest!  We had a party for her at the gym where she takes gymnastics this past Saturday, last night we took her out to dinner to celebrate because tonight she had gymnastics.  She requested cupcakes for her birthday treat at school, so we took that to school for her along wih Chick Fil A for lunch.

She's such a sweet lady and we love her so much.  She's turned into quite the funny, smart, sweet and high energy kiddo.  Happy Birthday, Lane!
