Run, Run, Run

It was time. For months my sweet neighbors, Kendra and Elisa, have been asking me to run with them twice a week and every time they asked I had an excuse. Yesterday they came by and asked yet again, this time I said yes. I'm in need of an exercise routine, and I need one that will fit into my schedule.

The only catch? It's a 5 am run, ouch! I "tried" to get in bed early last night, then set my alarm for 4:45 am. Alarm went off, I got dressed, laced up my shoes and headed out into the darkness to meet the ladies.

For someone who hasn't ran a long distance in years, I feel like I did ok at running 3 miles in 45 minutes!
I'm a little beat today, I feel like I've been up all night with a newborn again, ha!

Meet The Teachers

Every year just before Addyson's pre-school starts her new teachers come by the house for a visit. It's a fun way for the teachers and their new students to meet on a one-on-one basis.

This morning her teachers, Mrs. Burdick and Mrs. Swamipool, came by to meet Addyson. She has been counting down the days for this, this little girl is so ready to get back to school! She doesn't start Kindergarten this year because her birthday is 9/3, 2 days past the cut off, so she'll turn 5 just after school starts. We're totally fine with that though, we get to keep her home with us an extra year.

It's always a big deal to Addy to see what her class mascot is each year. Her first year in pre-school she was a duck, last year she was a dolphin, and this year she'll be a Moose, fun! She was thrilled because she got to see one in person just a few weeks ago in Alaska. How fitting!

I think all of us here in the Johnson house are ready for school to start up again. Anyone that knows me knows I'm all about schedules and soon we'll all be on one again. Summer has been great though; vacations, sleeping in a bit, no where to be, and our favorite, swimming and sliding on the water slide.

So it's official, school is starting so there had better be some cooler weather following right behind it!

Lane's Language

Delaney is a pretty funny little girl. She's got this quirky sense of humor that's hard to describe unless you're around her a bunch. She's also got her own language, as most almost 2 year old's do. Addy and I seem to understand it pretty well, I think Ryan still needs help trying to figure it out.
Some of my favorite "words" she uses and their meanings are;
Sicle-Day=Popsicle(really, I have NO idea where this came from, but it's my all time favorite one)

Gree-Gree=Hungry

Wadee=Water

Do-Dit=Yogurt

Binkeree=Binky(pacifier for those not aware;-)

Dooce=Juice

There are lots more, but these are the ones that make me laugh the most when she says them. You can thank me later for the translations, they'll help if you're ever around her and I'm not there to help you understand :)

Newest Member of the Lost Tooth Club

Addyson lost her first tooth yesterday, yay! She seemed kind of young to be loosing a tooth so a few weeks ago when I found that it was loose, I called her dentist to see if that was normal. I'm the paranoid parent for sure;-)

She woke us up early this morning to tell us what the tooth fairy left for her, a $5.00 bill and some Trident Gum, she was pleased!

An Amazing Trip!

Our little family got treated to the most wonderful trip to Alaska courtesy of Ryan's Mom and Dad. My father-in-law got a great job opportunity that brought them to Anchorage a few years ago, and we finally got up there to see it!

We left on 7/26(our 6th anniversary!) and got back 8/2. There were so many fun things we did; The Alaska Zoo, The 26 Glacier Cruise in Whittier(my absolute favorite part of the trip), did the tourist thing in downtown Anchorage, went to The Moose's Tooth for some great pizza and local flair, had a moose sighting, a hike, a cookout by the fire pit, I got to spend my birthday there and had the most amazing birthday cake(thanks Ryan and LeeAnn!), and we got in some really great family time. It was great for our girls to get to spend some one on one time with their "far away" grandparents, they loved it.

We appreciated Bud and LeeAnn's hospitality and for making our trip comfortable, fun, relaxing, you name it!

Thanks guys for an amazing trip!! Love and miss you already...

Private

Here in the next week I plan on making our little family blog "private". I really have been meaning to do this for a long time but haven't yet. By the end of this week it will be password protected and anyone that wants to read about the Johnson Family happenings will need a log on and password.

If you want an "invite" to read our blog, drop me an email or leave a comment here with your email address and I'll add you. Thanks!!
