Grandparent's Day Lunch

At Addyson's elementary school, they invited all grandparent's to have lunch with their grand kids during their lunch time. We're so blessed to be able to have a set of grandparent's that live close and that could attend! I sure wish we had both sets near.
My Mom drove out, we picked up lunch for Addyson, and took it to school. My Mom loved being able to see Addy in her element. It was fun for me to meet some of her little friends, too. We appreciate Geemie for attending the grandparent's day lunch with Addyson, what a fun memory that was made!

Laney J's First Day of Pre School

Laney is now a Busy Bee! She's in the older 2's class at St. Peter's, and they are the "Busy Bee" class. They couldn't have picked a better name for the class, ha! She goes to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-2:30. Yay for 10 hours of free time for me each week!
I was a bit worried that this little one would be sad when I left her at school the first day. She didn't like the fact that as soon as we got into her classroom she had to go straight to the sink to wash her hands. She cried about that for a bit, got over it, then started exploring her room. She put her nap mat, bag, and lunch box in her cubby, such a big girl. When it was time for me to leave I gave her a quick goodbye and told her I'd be back in a few hours. I was surprised that neither one of us cried.

Fast forward a few hours when I picked her up. She was so happy to see me, and when I saw how happy SHE was, I cried! Crazy Mom emotions. The teacher said she had a great day so that thrilled me. She ate almost all her lunch, took a nap, and made some new friends. What more could a Mom want out of a first day of pre-school?! I was so proud of her! Now let's see if she wants to go back on Thursday...

The Downtown Aquarium

We decided to spend our Labor Day as tourists in our own city. We headed down to the Downtown Aquarium and had a great time. The four of us rode the train, the carousel, the Ferris wheel, ate a yummy lunch, got the girls suckers, the got poured on. Addyson and Ryan had just hopped onto a ride when the sky fell out. We were all soaked so we decided to head home. It was a soggy ride!
Love spending time with my little family. Before we know it these two little girls of ours are going to be all grown up!

Pizza Party!

This year we had Addyson's birthday party at Johnny Carino's. The kids got to make their own pizzas, watch them bake in the pizza oven, then eat! Just about every kid that Addy invited showed up, and 7 of her cousins were there. I'd say that was a great party! We had a giant cookie cake with a guitar on it(her request, she is convinced that one day she'll be a rock star. She will) The adults munched on some appetizers and probably snagged some of the kids' pizza, too. It was a great party, probably one of her best! We're so grateful that Addyson has such a loving extended family and some neat friends that really love her.

Happy 6th Birthday to our Addyson

We now have a 6 year old Kindergartner in the house and that can only mean one thing; DRAMA! She is quite the drama queen, but at the same time she is so funny. There are days when I don't think I can handle her dramatic side, then she'll say come up with, "Mom, you're the best Mom in the world." Such a sweet one. Love, love, love her.
She woke up extra early on her birthday to some pretty good presents. She got the long awaited Nintendo DS, some Zhu Zhu pets stuff, a board game, clothes, and a few other little things. Maybe we made a mistake letting her open presents BEFORE school because she got her first tardy on her birthday. Oh well, she had a great morning and that was most important.

Happy Birthday Addyson LeeAnn! We love you and are so blessed to be able to call you our daughter!
