Just Because

I came home from the grocery store this afternoon to a sweet card and hand picked flowers from our yard. Love my sweet babies and hub!

Lunching Ladies

After two soccer games(one win and one loss), a hurt ankle, and lots of running, we had some pretty tired girls. Ryan set them up on the deck with lunch and iPads. They're living the life on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Ohio. Life is good...

Dog+Chocolate=Sick

Baxter is a curious, nosy, stinker of a dog. I don't usually leave the house without putting him in his cage. The other day I left in a hurry to be somewhere on time and forgot to lock stinker dog up. That night I was putting kids to bed when I noticed a torn into box that originally held Lane's chocolate Easter bunny. The dog had torn into the box and ate the bunny. Yes, I'm fully aware that chocolate is toxic for dogs, which is why Lane was crying because she thought the dog was going to die. We went searching for him and found him curled up on our bed and vomit on the floor. Glad he didn't throw up on the bed, but it was no fun to clean it out of the carpet. Our Baxter dude is fine, but that chocolate certainly did a number on him. Stinker.

A Day on the Farm

Lane's preschool class had a field trip to a local farm today. It's actually her teacher, Mrs. Shannon's family's farm. It's a fully working farm with dairy cows, pigs, goats, cows and chickens. You can even put your order in to buy a half a cow to pick up in the fall. Definitely some fresh meat.
Weather was perfect and the class had a ball.

A New Hobby

For years now I've been using a product called Scentsy. It's basically a wickless candle. I love using it, and since moving to Ohio, I haven't really found anyone that sells it. So, I figured what the heck, I'll start selling it. It's going good so far and I'm excited to be part of it!

Visitors and The Falls

Im pretty sure we had the best Spring Break on record this year. Just two weeks before spring break, we get a call from Ryan's brother Cameron that he and his family were coming to visit us. We were thrilled!! Unbeknownst to us, on Cam's wife Niki's bucket list was a visit to Niagra Falls. We felt like since we live so close, we could mark off that wish for her.

The day after our visitors arrived, we went to Amish Country for some sights and cheese. The Amish know how to make some good cheese and furniture. And it's always fun to see the horse and buggies around, such a different way of life than the rest of us for sure. The day after we packed up, and headed North towards Canada. On the way, we stopped at the Kirtland temple for an awesome tour. After that it was straight for Ontario. We stayed for two days and packed in a ton of fun. We walked, walked, and walked again. Did I mentioned that we walked everywhere?? No complaints though, we needed to walk off all the yummy food we had been eating. We walked the perimeter of the Horseshoe Falls and got pretty soaked from the mist, then headed underground for The Journey Under the Falls. That's probably the best part about being there, to be underneath the falls is pretty crazy. After that we made a stop at the Hershey store, headed to The Hard Rock for a t shirt for Cameron, then played on Clifton Hill St. There was so much to do there from haunted houses, fun houses, Guinness book of world records attraction, an upside down house, wax museum, and the list goes on.

It was so much fun being with Cameron, Niki, Kyle, Kayleigh, Brinley and Peyton. Kyle will soon leave on his two year mission for our church, so we were excited we got to spend some time with him before he leaves.

We are so thankful for visitors and so grateful that these guys took the time to see us!

Hammer Cat

Since our Hammer Johnson was a kitten, she gets these infections every now and then in her claws. She's had several claws removed, and last week our vet told us we should completely declaw her front two paws. Ryan and I were reluctant since she's 18 lbs and 13 years old, not an easy procedure for a cat of that size and age. We figured it best to go ahead with it since this was better than reoccurring infections that are painful for her. She's our first baby and we care for her like we care for our kiddos.
Since the surgery she's not getting around all that great, but I'm hoping after a few weeks we'll have our girl kitty back to normal!
